How candidates use it
Work chapter by chapter
Upload the chapter PDF, or photograph the pages (up to 10 images per material).
Generate as you read
A ten-question set straight after finishing a chapter catches what did not stick, while it is still cheap to fix.
Build to a full-length paper
Once several chapters are done, generate longer sets across them for a mock-exam feel.
Terminology first, application second
Certification material in this field is terminology-heavy: muscle names, movement planes, phases, acute variables, contraindications. Precision matters, and precision is what retrieval practice builds.
Photographing pages works well here because much of the material is figures and tables with labels — anatomical diagrams, phase charts, programming templates. Labelled figures produce good questions; unlabelled ones do not.
As with any certification, the awarding body defines what is examinable. Generated questions test your material; NASM's own published materials define the scope.
Terminology is also where true/false items earn their place. Much of this material is defined by boundaries — which phase a movement belongs to, which contraindication applies under which condition — and a statement that is correct except for the condition is exactly the kind of near-miss that shows whether you learned the rule or the gist of it.
Practical notes
- Photograph textbook pages rather than retyping
- Labelled anatomical figures and phase charts work well
- One chapter per material keeps questions specific
- Longer cross-chapter sets once several chapters are covered
- The awarding body remains the authority on scope

Questions candidates ask
Can I photograph my textbook instead of scanning it?
Yes. A phone photo taken square-on in good light works, and up to 10 images can be attached to one material.
Are these official NASM practice questions?
No. They are generated from the material you upload. NASM's own practice materials are separate.
Does it handle anatomical diagrams?
When the diagram is labelled, yes — the labels are what the questions are built from. An unlabelled sketch gives it nothing to work with.
Should I generate as I read, or after finishing the book?
As you read. A ten-item set right after a chapter catches what did not stick while re-reading that chapter is still cheap. Waiting until the end turns every gap into a re-read of the whole book.
